This is a little more technical, but here goes: You can check the file hasn't been tampered with by first downloading the "" file provided by Tor (right click, save as). This includes what is known as a "hash", the result of the original file being put through an algorithm, and is unique to that file. So, if the file has been tampered with, it will have a different hash to the legitimate, trusted one. Therefore, the user can put the download through the algorithm and if it delivers the same hash as that provided by Tor, it's highly likely the app is legitimate. The result will look something like "de4b6a6949b9408384f3bfe8c1fa0e4688569ca4f0eda95ae03d0829d2c695af".
